Cineworks Staff

Meg Thornton - Executive Director

Meg Thornton is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and has worked in the media arts for over 25 years as an artist and an administrator. Meg joined Cineworks shortly after moving to Vancouver in the 1980’s. She is responsible for the overall administration of the organization and works with the Board of Directors and the staff to develop policies and programs which advance Cineworks' goals and objectives.

Leanne Makcrow - Office Manager and Member Services Coordinator

Leanne Makcrow is proud to be the new office manager here at Cineworks and looking forward to meeting and working with our members.

Jürgen Beerwald - Equipment Coordinator

Jürgen Beerwald attended Simon Fraser University and has worked on countless films as a gaffer and grip. As the gate-keeper for all of Cineworks gear, he also performs routine maintenance and repairs and provides members with technical information and advice.

Megan Bodaly - Digital Media Coordinator

Megan is infatuated with all things film. With an unnatural attraction
to captured light, shadow and the smells of photographic chemicals,
she claims to be an editor but secretly is just trying to touch film
as often as possible. Megan comes to Cineworks with over 10 years
experience working in post production. With 5 years spent teaching at
Vancouver Film School, she is excited to be back in a position to help
film makers tell their stories.

Cheyanne Turions - Programs Manager and Curator

As a lover of poetic words + pretty sounds, cheyanne's work centres around encouraging + creating artifacts of both with wild creativity. Formally trained as a philosopher, self-taught as a facilitator of ideas, an organizer of structured discussions and a nit-picker of language. Getting things done is most fun when brought about with friends and thus her work tends to centre around intimate collaborations with gross conflicts of interest. Tangibly manifested, this work has taken myriad forms: fashionable photographic images, creative non-fiction, elaborate dinner parties, love letters, a mix tape for every month of the year, section editor, production manager, music director and, here, programs manager.
