Dance on Film

A CINEMATIC SALON WITH ACCLAIMED DANCE FILMMAKERS

Cineworks Independent Filmmakers Society celebrates dance filmmaking with a cinematic salon focused on the genre. This moderated panel discussion will screen clips from participating filmmakers to guide a dialogue about the rewards and challenges of capturing moving bodies on film. Swapping trade secrets and discussing effective game plans, Dance on Film will take place in an intimate and informal venue where audience members are encouraged to join the exchange.

The panelists are:

Daniel Conrad(Afternoon of the Chimeras, Subways, 7 Universal Solvents). Hailed as one of Canada’s most comprehensive voices in dance cinema, he produces, directs, writes and shoots every frame of his dance films.

Tara Hungerford (Mon amour mon parapluie, Break a Leg, Rosie, Annabelle, Wearing the Unknown). As a former gymnast and dancer, Hungerford is inspired to incorporate dance and choreographed movement in her film and video projects.

Bo Myers (Blossom). Bo makes dance films, documentary films, experimental films and tea.

Moderator Steve Rosenberg is an award winning writer/director who also produces and hosts Blink, a cable TV talk show. Currently, Rosenberg works as a videographer/editor.
