Deliberate Obstructions and Calculated Aimlessness

December 10 2009

ARTIST TALK WITH EXPANDED CINEMA ARTIST BRUCE MCCLURE

The conversation with New York-based expanded cinema artist Bruce McClure will explore the potential of the 16mm projector as a liberated instrument of projection of pictures and an optical soundtrack. The salon will also aim to define theatrical time, free of predetermined content and the hegemony of film material. The projector will be presented as a leading creative agent, and as a vehicle for space-time compression. Audience participation will be encouraged. In addition to an open discussion format, the audience will be invited to intervene in the discussion.

Local expanded-cinema artist, curator and writer, Alex MacKenzie, will moderate the discussion.
