AN INTIMATE + INFORMAL DISCUSSION WITH DIY FILMMAKERS

The DIY mystique of super 8 filmmaking has been unmasked, for the third year in a row, by Vancouver's Project 8 Collective and their Super 8 Boot Camp. Join us for a discussion about access to the tools of expression and the political, social and creative emancipation this enables. The discussion will be led by local filmmaker Pia Massie and rounded out by a diverse cast of Boot Camp participants, including Jen Crothers, Amber Dawn, Terry Haines, Amy Lynn Kazymerchyk, Rika Moorhouse, Mark Penner, and Mary Shearman. Massie is a multi-media artist and educator who works with the community on issues of social justice, communication and the environment, and has a special love for small-format filmmaking.
