NEW CINEWORKS 2008
A WILD CELEBRATION OF LOCALLY MADE CINEMA + THE FILMMAKING COMMUNITY

Curated by cheyanne turions.

New Cineworks is an annual screening of new films by members of Cineworks Independent Filmmakers Society. The program reflects the diverse nature of the organization and seeks to represent a variety of film interests and genres, creating an innovative and engaging program. Exposing audiences to filmmaking they may not otherwise have an opportunity to see, New Cineworks ignites excitement for local filmmaking and filmmakers. 2008’s program aims to explore the space between formal art works and independent production. Visually engaging and thought provoking, surprise endings abound in a cast of films that range from personal documentary to whimsical meditation.

Following the screening, a brief question + answer period will allow the audience to quench their curiosity regarding the hows and whys of the showcased films. Filmmakers and audience are then invited back to the Cineworks Studio to celebrate. Drinks + dancing + hysterical laughter guaranteed.
