Membership
Whether you want to have access to gear and post-production suites or simply keep informed about the independent film community, Cineworks has a membership option for you.
All Access Membership: $180.00 + hst per annum
All Access members have access to all Cineworks equipment and 24 hours access to both the Howe street and Alexander street (Annex) facilities. They receive the Cineworks newsletter and e-mail list server. They have access to workshops at reduced rates, receive free or discounted tickets to Cineworks events. They qualify for the Production Fund (after 1 year) and the Film Pool and can promote themselves and their films on the Cineworks website, and are entitled to vote at members' meetings.
Production Membership: $120.00 + hst per annum
Production Members have access to all Cineworks equipment and 24 hours access to the Howe stret facilities. They receive the Cineworks newsletter and e-mail list server. They have access to workshops at reduced rates, receive free or discounted tickets to Cineworks events. They qualify for the Production Fund (after 1 year) and the Film Pool and can promote themselves and their films on the Cineworks website, and are entitled to vote at members' meetings.
Annex Members: $100.00 + hst per annum
Annex Members have 24 hour access to all facilities and equipment at the Alexander street location (The Annex). They receive the Cineworks newsletter and e-mail list server. They have access to workshops at reduced rates, receive free or discounted tickets to Cineworks events. They qualify for the Production Fund (after 1 year) and the Film Pool and can promote themselves and their films on the Cineworks website, and are entitled to vote at members' meetings. Annex membership is open to students.
All Access, Production and Annex Members should be active independent filmmakers, and must support the aims and objectives of the Society. To become an All Access, Production or Annex Member, you must attend an orientation meeting, fill out an application form and submit it with a resume and complete ten hours yearly of volunteer work for the Society.
General Membership: $40.00 + hst per annum
General members receive the Cineworks e-mail newsletter; have access to workshops at reduced rates; receive free or discounted tickets to Cineworks events, and have a vote at members' meetings but do not have access to Cineworks equipment at Production Member rates. Volunteer hours are encouraged but not required.
Membership Renewal:
Members may renew their membership at any time before or after it has expired. If your membership has lapsed for 3 or more years, you will be required to attend an orientation meeting to renew.
Orientation
New member orientations are held for prospective members. This orientation is the first step for those interested in accessing Cineworks production equipment and/or post-production facilities.
Orientations are currently held every second Monday at 5:00pm sharp and go until approximately 6:00pm. Attendance is on a drop-in basis and there is no charge to attend. The orientation consists of a brief overview of Cineworks and its programs and a tour of the facilities.
