Jennifer Cane

Jennifer Cane is a graduate of the Master’s program in Critical and Curatorial Studies at the University of British Columbia and the BFA program in Art History from Concordia University in Montréal. Past projects include the exhibition The Wild so Close at the Or Gallery in Vancouver, B.C. and the online exhibition Arcadian Arrow, in association with ASDF Makes. An upcoming independent project for the Yukon Arts Centre in 2012 will present works related to sleep, dreaming, and the social realities of waking life. Her research pursuits have centered upon issues related to authenticity, social history, labour and leisure culture, and her MA thesis examined recent developments of the ‘tourist gaze’ in contemporary Vancouver art practice.
