A. Jonathan Benny

An award-winning filmmaker whose films tour festivals worldwide and are broadcast on international television networks. His films range from dramatic to documentary and experimental. Some themes he has explored include the transition of human emotions ("Lester's Transit Strike Hobby"/"Buddy Finds the Neighbor's Wife" Paris, Toronto, Hamburg), humankind's unavoidable need for confrontation ("Do Not Disturb" Venice Shorts, 1 Reel Top 10), the male need for tribal endorsement ("Outdoorsmen" Distinguishing Features) and the unexpected roots of hatred ("Peaceful Propaganda" Berlin Interfilm Shorts, Amsterdam Shadowfest). Jonathan was invited to participate in the Berlin International Film Festival's Talent Campus in 2003, Emergence in France and has been commissioned to direct films for special events including the Distinguishing Features series at the Seattle Art Museum. Currently, Jonathan is in post-production on his latest short drama "Heaven is a Colorful Place" and is in development on a feature film with producer Isabelle Longnus.
