Claudia Morgado Escanilla
Born in Santiago, Chile. Claudia Morgado Escanilla graduated from Montreal’s Concordia University in 1991 with an award for outstanding achievement in the film program. Since then she has produced, written and directed several short films which have received awards in international film festivals including the Berlin Teddy in 1996 for her film Unbound and the Audience Award at the Creteil Women’s film festival in Paris for her film Sabor a Mi. In 2000 she completed the Director’s in Residency program at The Canadian Film Centre where she directed the short film Martirio (Sufferance). In 2002 she produced and directed Bitten, which won the Audience Award, Best Director of a short award and Best supporting Actress award (Babz Chula) at the New York Film and Video Festival 2003. She resides in Vancouver where she is in pre production of No Bikini and development for her first feature film funded by the Telefilm Canada Screen writer’s assistant Program.
