An Introduction to the 35mm Arriflex BL4 Camera
ESPECIALLY FOR INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS
This introduction to the Arriflex 35mm BL4 is an orientation on using the 35mm camera system available at Cineworks to members and non-members.
Workshop participants will leave this introduction competent enough to use Cineworks's 35mm film equipment to later shoot on their own, with confidence. Topics include loading and unloading film, cleaning and threading the gate, shutter adjustments, speed control, lens handling and accessories available at Cineworks.
Workshop participants should have some previous experience determining exposure, either photographic, digital or video, as lighting will not be covered in the context of the workshop. Also, while we will touch on many of a camera assistant's responsibilities, this orientation is intended for those working independently, and artists who would like to use the 35mm medium.
Accessories and some studio lighting will be available, but please do bring your own ideas and questions.
